About Us

Matt Carle has more than twenty years of experience in the fields of government affairs and political management.  After earning his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University, Matt built a reputation as a top-tier political operative through his involvement in the operations and management of a host of winning political campaigns.  Concurrently, Matt received his law degree from Capital University Law School while graduating with honors. 

Matt previously served as Director of Legislative Affairs and Senior Policy Advisor to Governor John Kasich.  Most recently, Matt managed Governor Kasich’s landslide reelection in 2014 and served as the executive director for New Day for America, the Super PAC organized to support Kasich’s presidential campaign. In 2018, Matt helped direct the independent expenditure efforts on behalf of Governor Mike DeWine where he worked with the Republican Governor’s Association and DeWine’s Super PAC to develop paid advertising strategies while simultaneously coordinating independent grassroots activities.

Located on Capitol Square in the LeVeque Tower, Cornerstone provides governmental affairs consulting and representation before the Ohio General Assembly, executive level agencies, boards, commissions, the Office of the Governor, other Ohio Constitutional offices, and JobsOhio, on matters that impact our client’s business model in Ohio.

Cornerstone works with trade associations, corporations, and organizations to achieve their public policy goals. Cornerstone has strong relationships within Ohio state government and stakeholders around Capitol Square. We understand the executive decision-making process and have access to key personnel in the executive branch and executive agencies, boards and commissions.  We take pride in knowing the right people to talk to and having access to them. Our understanding of Ohio’s executive branch system is based on years of participation inside and outside of state government.
